Chili: Higher kharif chilli output in major producing areas in 2011-12 is likely to pressurize the price trend.  As per latest government data, chilli output in Andhra Pradesh 2011-12 is estimated to be 6.14 (614,000) lakh tonnes compared to 4.91 (491,000) lakh tonnes last year.  Chilli arrivals in Guntur market were around 30000 bags, down compared to 50000 bags on previous day.  The spot price was quoted at Rs.7500 ($143.57, €105.53, £92.88) per 100kg.  Peak fresh crop arrivals are likely to begin by December in Guntur mandi.  Rising arrivals of the fresh crop in Madhya Pradesh is also likely to keep the prices under pressure.
