Weekly Market Reports of International Spice Commodities – Coriander

Coriander futures ended up on short covering.  Total coriander arrivals in Rajasthan were 3000 bags, almost unchanged from previous day. The spot price in Kotamandi stood steady at Rs.4500 ($86.14, €65.12, £55.73) per 100 kg.  Higher inventory and weak demand is likely to pressurize the trend.  The sown areas in major growing states are likely to rise due to good rainfall.  Coriander acreage in Andhra Pradesh last week was 905 ha, down 73 percent from  a year ago, data released by the State Agriculture Department showed.  Stocks increased in the exchange accredited warehouse.  According to the NCDEX report, total coriander stocks as of 18th November 2011 rose to 35690 tonnes from 23637 tonnes previous day.
