Coriander contracts have started rising after falling for the last few days. However, the upside is seen limited since new crop arrivals have started. Strong demand for coriander is also unlikely to rise before March, which will put pressure on prices in the short-term.
Meanwhile, sentiment for the spice may gain support on reports that the output has been affected by the cold weather conditions which occurred in the key growing state of Rajasthan. Coriander arrivals in Rajasthan were around 9000 bags, down from 13000 bags supplied last Tuesday. The arrivals included around 500 bags of new crop. In Kota, coriander was offered at Rs.3850 ($77.93, €59.18, £49.57) per 100kg.
