Mustard Seed Futures up on Renewed Buying Support

Mustard seed prices looked up by Rs 26 ($0.50, €0.37, £0.32) to Rs 3,216 ($62.18, €46.36, £39.54) per quintal in futures trading today, on speculators buying driven by a firm spot market sentiment.

Market watchers showed reports of less showing areas this season, triggered buying by oil mills, mainly encouraged traders to raise their holdings.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed prices for December contracts added Rs 26 ($0.50,  €0.37, £0.32) or 0.82%, to Rs 3,216 ($62.18, €46.36, £39.54) per quintal, with an open interest of 62,960 lots.

Prices for January contracts also  moved up by Rs 21 ($0.41, €0.30, £0.26) or 0.65%, to Rs 3,268 ($63.18, €47.11, £40.18) per quintal, clocking an open interest of 84,460 lots.
